Le Flambeau Foundation , Inc., 12/31/25

Dear Friends, Families, and Torchbearers,
January 1st holds a profound place in our hearts. It is the dawn of a New Year, and this 2026 it is the 222nd anniversary of Haiti’s Independence. On this day in 1804, Haiti claimed its place as the world’s first free Black republic—a legacy of courage that serves as the very foundation of our mission.
As we enter 2026, the Le Flambeau Foundation is honored to begin its 21st year of service. We move into this milestone year fueled by the momentum of our students’ achievements and a deepened commitment to Haiti’s youth.
For over two decades, our work has been guided by the belief that education is the ultimate path to sustainable freedom. While THE SPARK of Le Flambeau program remains a cornerstone of our efforts to develop leadership, critical thinking, and access – our mission extends to a holistic support philosophy for Haiti’s future. This includes providing educational guidance for youth in Haiti aiming to elevate their academic standing and supporting university scholars as they prepare to enter professional fields vital to Haiti’s growth.
Today, on January 1st, as we observe the sacred tradition of sharing Soup Joumou — a soup once forbidden to our ancestors, now a universal symbol of dignity, liberation, and elevation —we renew our pledge to keep the torch of opportunity burning brightly.
The progress we have seen is a testament to the power unity. We thank you for standing with us as together we empower the next generation of leaders, to write the next chapter of history.
Happy New Year! Joyeuse Fête de l’Indépendance!
