Camp-Perrin Youth Brigade Earthquake Recovery

Le Flambeau Foundation , Inc., 11/6/21

In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti on August 14, 2021, the Camp-Perrin Youth Brigade was born, supported by Le Flambeau Foundation , to assist with recovery in Camp-Perrin – a community with which the foundation has history going back to 2013.

The Camp-Perrin Youth Brigade is a group of youth from Camp-Perrin, Haiti, associated with Le Flambeau Foundation via past educational activities such as the Le Flambeau Laptop Club, THE SPARK of Le Flambeau program, career mentorship, and more.  The group was pulled together in response to the earthquake as Camp-Perrin experienced extensive damage.  The group was co-led by Naïsha Guillaume and Berthonise Exaré César working with a committee made up of ten young adults living in Camp-Perrin who were directly impacted by the earthquake.  Their community experienced extensive damage, personal loss, injuries, and more during this earthquake.   The Camp-Perrin Youth Brigade provided hands-on assistance to local families with emphasis on one-on-one emergency support, clean-up, and back-to-school recovery.   Services were available until November 1st, 2021.
