Le Flambeau Foundation , Inc., July 2021
We recently announced the runner-ups and the winner of the 2021 Spring session of THE SPARK of Le Flambeau. Let’s learn a little more about our grand winner Naïsha C. Guillaume.
After graduating from a three-year bilingual university, Naïsha currently works as an administrative assistant in her home town of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Her ambition to become a small business owner and take on a leadership role in her current career, was one of the driving forces for her to enroll in THE SPARK of LF program. English fluency plays a pivotal role in providing opportunities for entrepreneurship in Haiti. THE SPARK of LF program helps accelerate its members in reaching their goals.
As the winner of the Spring session, Naïsha has received study materials as well as a stipend to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) which could help her access a University in the United States and continue her English language studies with emphasis in entrepreneurship. The TOEFL test is one of the key factors to helping foreign students gain admittance to institutions of higher learning in the US which might not otherwise be available.
THE SPARK of LF is an English as a second language exchange program that aspires to help ambitious youth like Naïsha use their education to help build a stronger community in Haiti.
As noted by Naisha when reflecting on her THE SPARK of Le Flambeau experience – I could express my ideas with young open minded people, share my thoughts freely, give my opinion, and discuss actual and pertinent subjects while practicing another language.
LFF Note: The grand winner received the TOEFL test study kit and will have all TOEFL test fees covered by Le Flambeau Foundation . In addition, resulting from the foundation’s partnership with Babbel, all participants received a Babbel app code for two years of English learning on their phone.
