Le Flambeau Foundation Inc., May 31, 2015
In Haiti we honor our mothers on the last Sunday in May each year. This is a time when we give our mothers that extra special treatment and recognition they so deserve.
It is a Haitian tradition to wear a flower in honor of your mother on Mother’s Day. A red flower is worn to honor a mother that is living and either purple or white to honor a mother that has passed.
Today we honor all mothers in and from Haiti as they selflessly passed, and pass, the torch forward; sacrificing themselves to ensure a brighter future for us and for generations to come. Today we honor our mothers and carry this spirit with us, forever.
With Love,
Le Flambeau Foundation
