Dear friends from Le Flambeau Foundation ,
Once again, I am very glad to write down these few lines that sum up my fall semester at college. The challenge was real, the stress was present and intensified as I was trying to find an equilibrium for my overall life as a student. All my classes had their difficult part. The easiest one (Intermediate French) indeed required much more stress to cope with as I had to prove my skills as a native French speaker, and this professor was the strictest one I ever had. Considering academic issues that I acknowledged, now I have hold the truth that college is never easy regardless of what a student is majoring in. Based on my next calendar, it’s believable that the next semester will require larger amount of academic stress and study times to improve my grade point average.
This semester required much more energy and stress from labor program, and lots of anxiety to give positive results than previously. My labor position this year has been very challenging as it required a large amount of intellectual works instead of physical ones. A best strategies I could apply included shrinking the amount of sleeping time, adding some hours to improve physical fitness (yoga, physical exercises), making more place for office hours to create balance between study, work and leisure.
All of this has been made possible from long lasting supports that I received from family and friends like you. Thank you very much for all the support that you provided me with during my time here. Every student who attends Berea College needs supports from loved ones to survive. I am very grateful for all you have done to help me stay motivated. I always enjoy opening a “Le Flambeau package” during the toughest weeks of school.
It’s Christmas holidays now. The campus is so quiet as almost everyone tried to reach home back to celebrate with family. It’s scary sometimes to walk through campus alone during this period. But am not afraid at all as I enjoy spending some times with the few international students who are around. I wish you a “Merry Christmas” as you are getting ready to live the new year 2015.
Best regards,
Danice
