Rachelle Mathurin – Graduated May 2011
Rachelle Mathurin is one of Le Flambeau Foundation Scholars. Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Rachelle earned a full scholarship to Berea college focusing on education. Rachelle excelled as a student receiving numerous awards for academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement. Graduating with honors in 2011, Rachelle went on to earn a Masters of Education degree from Harvard University. Being fluent in Kreyol, French, English, and Spanish, Rachelle now works in the international education field. Her devotion to Haiti is impacting the rise of other young people through education, with an emphasis on youth in Haiti and the Latin American/Caribbean region. Her contributions of teaching, advising and programming through entities such as World Bank, UNESCO, and USAID to name a few, will affect change in the generations to come.
Christelle Louis – Graduated May 2011
Christelle Louis is a Scholar from the Le Flambeau Foundation . Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she earned a full scholarship to Berea college where she often found herself on the Dean’s list. Throughout her time attending college in the US, Christelle was active in numerous community service projects where she always shared an on-going commitment to giving back. Her passion for Haiti has always encouraged her to lead by helping in hopes of playing a key role in a brighter future for the home she loves so much. Upon graduation in 2011, Christelle returned to Haiti to work in market development for the leading corporation in Haiti. She is fluent in Kreyol, French, English, and Spanish.
Ruchama Charles – Graduated 2016
Ruchama Charles is a Scholar from the Le Flambeau Foundation . As an alumni member and top performer of THE SPARK of Le Flambeau language exchange program, Ruchama was the recipient of the Le Flambeau Foundation Earthquake Scholarship. She attended North Central Missouri College for a special program where she focused in accounting and earned an honor roll GPA. After completing the one semester program in 2011, Ruchama returned to her home of Port-au-Prince, Haiti to help make a difference where she could. As a classical violinist and pianist she often volunteered her time and taught music to youth in her community. She went on to earn a full scholarship to College of the Ozarks back in the US, and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Accounting. She is fluent in Kreyol, French and English
Danice Lefranc – Graduated May 2017
Originally from the North of Haiti, Danice LeFranc was an alumni member and top performer of THE SPARK of Le Flambeau language exchange program. He was the top of his class in High School and is now fluent in Kreyol, French and English. His peers often lauded him as a driven and engaged youth leader in their community. Danice earned a full scholarship and attended Berea College in the US, where he graduated in 2017 with a 4 year degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He is currently pursuing his MBA in hopes of helping his community develop healthy and sustainable country growth.
