The Dr. Luc L. Colas Institute (Institut Dr. Luc L. Colas) is a vision that Dr. Luc L. Colas spent much of his life selflessly transforming into a reality for young people in Cap-Haitien, Haiti. It is currently a structure in transition and was the home of Dr. Luc Colas until his passing in 2009. Dr. Luc Colas, as a practicing medical doctor, lawyer and judge, later as a college professor and university president, and even in his retirement for years until his passing; was known for holding classes and discussion roundtables, engaging bright aspiring youth at his home in Cap-Haitien over the thirty plus years he lived there. The home of Dr. Luc L. Colas had a reputation for being a magnet that attracted the brightest minds in the region and the country – young and old. Dr. Luc Colas’ house was known as THE center of intellectual and philosophical dialogue – a status that lives on. As has been said by many “if you don’t think and don’t want to talk, don’t go over to the home of Dr. Colas”. The structure is currently in rebuilding mode. Select classes are held, with the spirit of Dr. Luc L. Colas, at this historic location in Cap-Haitien. This location is host to Le Flambeau Foundation in Haiti.
