Spring 2013 Winners Announced!

We are pleased to announce the winners of THE SPARK of Le Flambeau program, for the spring semester 2013.

THE SPARK of Le Flambeau language exchange program is in its fifth year.  With a focus on extending  educational opportunities to bright underserved youth in and from Haiti while also adding significant value to the development of U.S. youth; THE SPARK of Le Flambeau aims to improve fluency in reading and writing in English for students in Haiti and in the U.S.  while fostering the exchange of culture and new friendships, and mentor-ships.  A full program description can be found at the bottom of this page.  This recent session was a mini 4-week version held exclusively for students in Haiti.

Ms. Deborah Fallahay at the University of Chicago served as the Grader for this session and Bijou served as our Youth Leader.  We thank them.

The scoring received from students for the program was quite positive (4.47 out of 5).  We appreciate the suggestions and will apply many of them to our next session in September. Results from the votes received were taken into consideration as final winners were selected; very difficult decisions.   Congratulations to the grand winner Tamiyou who won the official title as THE SPARK of Le Flambeau and was also awarded the Dell notebook laptop computer.  See full list of winners below.

To all student team members who were active throughout this spring session, we could not have done it without you. To THE SPARK of Le Flambeau award winners – Congratulations!!!

Best regards,
